San Diego Gas & Electric signed today a service agreement contract with MelRok to support SDG&E’s over generation pilot. The pilot involves the deployment and management of distributed battery storage systems in up to 10 commercial facilities with the goal of mitigating the over generation problem faced by the California grid. The systems will also be used to support Automated Demand Response events where the utility issues to participants a request to shed their energy usage for a short period of time.

MelRok provides a secure real time Energy Optimization and Demand Management Platform. MelRok’s platform has multiple applications including managing distributed energy resources (DERs), energy management system fault detection and diagnostics, as well as Automated Demand Response management.
