About Melrok

Our Story

In March 2011, a small team of engineers out of Orange County, CA, set out on a mission to eliminate wasted energy in buildings. Led by Michel Kamel, a Stanford PhD and ex-Rocket Scientist, the team thrived to instill the discipline and thoroughness of aerospace into the management of buildings.

MelRok's journey started by developing the world's first self reporting energy meter and gateway. The Touch Pro combined the functionality of a multi-channel meter, data client, data server, data logger, and modem to measure, store and forward detailed measured and polled data to the cloud. Initially focused on energy metering applications, MelRok's platform was adopted by colleges, retail, data centers, industrial plants, and commercial buildings on 3 continents for energy monitoring, measurement and verification reports, energy anomaly detection, automated demand response, and energy cost allocation. Today, MelRok's platform has evolved into a continuous optimization solution that integrates data from multiple systems, including building automation systems, equipment controllers, energy meters, solar PV, and battery storage systems, to conduct a comprehensive, time-resolved, wholistic analysis of the building and its systems.

MelRok uncovers the deepest savings by combining human intelligence , provided by its team of engineers and scientists, with high resolution accurate data collected by its IoT platform , and its artificial-intelligence powered cloud. MelRok's solution presents the most thorough and detailed approach towards ongoing optimization of buildings.
